My Photo Gallery

This is our Secret Summer Hide-Out near a small medieval place called Storkow, about 60 km south east of Berlin. It belonged to my grandparents, and my grandfather built the cottage and the other buildings on it himself. Al l this dates back to 1926. There is quite a long family history to tell, sometimes of quite dramatic times – before, during and after WWII. Now we are in quiet and happy waters. We have big family gatherings here, and apart from that Gerhard and I enjoy the natural and peaceful calmness of the surroundings, watching the birds and squirrels, doing or not doing the gardening necessary as per the time of the year.

The photos show the cottage from the two gate entrances, from Amselweg and from Kiefernweg, Then comes the photo of our moles who have settled down there and feel quite at home!!! The next photos show the adorned kitchen window and then one of the bonfires which Gerhard and I love to make. Next is the sandy pathway from the street leading to us up to the cottage and it follows my excursion looking for mushrooms – I was equally fascinated by the toxin ones as well as those edible, which I took, of course!!! Finally I want to share three photos of the Storkower Lake with you which is near by and where in the summer, come rain come shine, I accompany my friend Hansi for the early morning swim – beautiful.

Until 25th November, the Colombian artist Fernando Botero had an exhibition of his sculptures here in Berlin, right in the centre of town, in Lustgarten on the Museumsinsel. His munumental bronze statures of beautiful and oversized men and women have an exceptional charm and a deep erotic beauty. I was so enchanted by the hidden joy of life that these figures radiate, and I photographed them all and then found it difficult to select only some to share with you in this gallery.
