Here are some photos of our wonderful holiday in Switzerland in September/October 2007. Gerhard is a real connoisseur of Switzerland, having been there many times before, and he knows every region and every detail of every region, p.e. the climates the mountain passes, the valleys, the people, the languages, the cultures, all the particularities and what more. I have chosen five groups of photos and just want you to enjoy the beauty and singularity of them -if you get ever so enthused and curious, we are happy to give you more details…..

The second photo is taken from the balcony of our hotel, the Furka Hotel – which Gerhard had headed for straight away when we got to the rcomfortable little resort Dissentis, because he had stayed there before!!! It is situated in the centre of town, right overlooking the idyllic railway station of the “Rätische Eisenbahn”, the “Gourmino express and the “Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn” with their pretty bright red waggons – which can be seen everywhere in the mountainous region because of their bright colour against the snowy mountains. We had this view right from our balcony!

Then there are photos of our excursions to the Oberalppass, the Schöllenschlucht, the Furkapass and the Rhone valley. Here the eternally snow covered mountains and passes are closed in the winter.

The yellow house is our Hotel Primavera in Brissago, quite near the Italian border – which Gerhard also knew from other holidays!!! The Hotel is on the hill overlooking the beautiful lago Maggiore and our balcony had a magnificent view on to the Lago, as you can see. The climate was lovely and mild, and an absolute change from Graubünden, because here we had almost tropical wheather and vegetation and could leave our heavy coats back in the wardrobe….
